The “Tiny Tots” program designed for children aged 5-7. This program is divided into 10 levels, with a duration of 3-4 months for each level. Because this program is aimed at younger children, it is paced to be slower than our “kids” program, but out Tiny Tots finish at the same level as our students. Many parents prefer the Tiny Tots program because children’s minds are more adaptable and impressionable at this age.
The “Kids” program is designed for children aged 8-13. This program is divided into 8 levels, with a duration of 3-4 months for each level.
The ALOHA Mental Arithmetic program has different activities to ensure that children will have fun during class and at the same time keep an optimum attention level. Some activities that are part of the educational planning from ALOHA Mental Arithmetic are: Number dictation, speed test, calculus championship, timed test, games in pairs or groups, etc.
In both our ‘kids’ and ‘tiny tots’ program, students attend two classes each week, once a week for 2 hours. Children are encouraged to practice at home with some 5-15 minutes take home exercises to improve their skills.
ALOHA Mental arithmetic offers two different educational courses according to the age of the children that are starting the program:
The difference between the courses is that Tiny Tots starts gradually since it is for smaller children. The first four levels of Tiny Tots equal the first two levels from Kids Course. The educational material used in class is different: Tiny Tots’ books have coloring, drawings and shapes while Kids’ books are focused in numbers. At the end of both courses, children can solve the same math facts with the same speed.
There is a test at the end of every level. Children must clear the test to gain admission to the next level.
